The Rhodeus Plate is our new design: a small round dish in antiqued stainless steel, with a solid brass bitterling resting at its center. The bitterling (Rhodeus) is a small freshwater fish with a remarkable habit: it lays its eggs inside living freshwater mussels. We wanted to give this quiet little fish a place of its own.

Use it as a ring dish by the sink, a catch-all for earrings and keys by the door, or a small tray on your desk or bedside table. The textured, antiqued steel has a soft, worn-in look that sets off the warm tone of the brass.

Care: wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth and keep it out of the dishwasher. The brass will slowly darken with time; a little brass polish brings back the shine if you prefer it bright.
