The serpent, one of the oldest and most mythical creatures in the world. The serpent is derived from the Latin word “serpens” which translates to a “crawling animal.” Snakes have been associated with some of the oldest rituals in the world, and they can represent the duality that exists in all of us — the natures of good and evil that are constantly in conflict and which could manifest at any point.

In some cultures, snakes act as fertility symbols. The Hopi people of North America performed an annual snake dance to represent the union of Snake Youth (a Sky Spirit) and Snake Girl (a Spirit of the Underworld). This union, as they believed, helped to renew nature’s fertility.

There are other cultures that have significant symbolisms for snakes, depicting anything from fertility and life to death and imminent danger.

Whether or not you believe in the symbolism of snakes, there is no doubt that this product is a beauty to behold.
