The dragon turtle is one of the nine sons of the dragon in Chinese mythology. It is said to have the head of a dragon and the body of a turtle. There are many attributes assigned to the dragon turtle, from attracting wealth to offering protection to improving one's career. To understand this, let's look at its specific energies. Both the dragon and the turtle are considered celestial creatures and each is one of the four Feng Shui guardians assigned to each of the four cardinal directions:
The green dragon is in the east
The red phoenix in the south
The white tiger is in the west
The black turtle is in the north
So, a combination of two celestial animals makes for a more powerful force.

The energy of the dragon is associated with courage, auspiciousness, and good luck - it is one of the most powerful symbols in traditional Feng Shui. Turtles bring the energy of stability, longevity, and protection; they are an ancient energy associated with the wisdom of the earth. As an expression combining both these energies, the mythical dragon turtle became a Feng Shui cure for lasting wealth and a cure for protection and authority.

Our Dragon Turtle statue has a traditional Chinese pattern (Shou) on its back and the pattern is surrounded by five bats. The Chinese character Shou means long life and double happiness and bats are considered good luck symbol. Five bats represent the five blessings: prosperity, long life, love of virtue, health and a tranquil (natural death). The pattern of bats around Shou dates back to the Ging dynasty, from 1644 to 1912.

The statue is handmade of solid bronze, while the pattern on the back is made of 925 silver and it comes with the Black Walnut stand
